Watch out! Here they come! "Duck Days" are almost upon us.

What are Duck Days, you ask? No, it's not a festival for our feathery fowl friends. Duck Days is our annual Teacher Grant fundraiser sponsored by the DCC PTO! This is how our terrific teachers can get funding for the items they NEED for your children's classes. And in these tough economic times where school budgets have been cut, our teachers REALLY NEED your involvement! This year, Duck Days will run for 3 wonderful weeks from September 13th until October 1st! Find out more under the Fundraising link.

Thank You to Parents

Thank you to all the parents who showed their support (and their PI) for our wonderful teachers on Friday, August 13, 2010, as teachers and staff spent an extra-long day helping students pick up schedules and prepare for the new school year, they were treated to a wonderful meal presented by the DCC PTO. This 2010-2011 school year kicked off with the meal theme of "Picnic in the Canyon!", a hearty meal with an assortment of foods suitable for a picnic-- fried chicken, potato salad, chocolate chip cookies. YUM! Teachers and staff were energized by the delicious food as they work through the day.

Remember, this is an annual event sponsored by the 4th, 9th, and 12th grade parents. We try to distribute our requests for Parent Involvement amongst the various grade levels throughout the school year. Check out the information under the All About PI link for this year's upcoming activities!
