PTO Grant Request Process
Last Updated (Monday, 03 May 2010 18:04)
The DCC PTO raises funds to provide experiences and resources that promote community and expand the potential for student learning; enhance and support students’ academic and social experience at DCC and establishes teamwork between parents and staff with the goal of being the best school in District 20.
1) Priority is given to grant requests that benefit the most students.
2) Grant requests are limited to $2,500 per grant. Grants in excess of $2,500 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may need further discussion and/or a separate fundraiser.
3) An administrator must approve Grant requests before submitting to the DCC PTO. His/her approval indicates request fits in with current curriculum guidelines and the DCC mission.
4) Applications are due to the PTO by the end of the month prior to voting, on the last school day of that month. (October, December)
5) Voting on Grant Requests will take place at DCC PTO General meetings in November and in January.
6) Completed and signed (by an administrator) application forms should be placed in the PTO mailbox in Campus Services.
7) Applicant should email the Grant Manager that their grant has been submitted. [ This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ]
8) The Grant Request Applicant, or their designee, is encouraged to attend the general PTO meeting to present their request and answer questions prior to the voting. Applicants are encouraged to bring a sample or provide a demonstration. Please limit the presentation to 5 or 10 minutes.
9) List all costs involved with the grant request (shipping, warranty, insurance, additional supplies, extra parts, recommended services, etc).
10) Applicants will be notified of approval/denial within two weeks of member voting.
11) Voting on grants may be by show of hands or by paper vote at the discretion of the Presiding PTO Board Member.
12) Applicants, if registered with the PTO, are voting members but excluded from voting on their own grant request.
