EduKits
Last Updated (Thursday, 27 August 2009 15:05)
EduKits are pre-packaged, brand-name, school supply kits for Pre-K through 8th grades. They eliminate the need for parents to drive from store to store for school supplies prior to the new school year. The DCC PTO offers the program as a convenient service for busy parents. With EduKits, teachers can be assured that students are bringing in the items they requested for their classrooms. EduKits are strictly voluntary to purchase and are NOT a fundraiser. EduKits have been offered each year at DCC since the '06-'07 school year.
Watch for information via 20Alert emails in May. EduKits for 2010/2011 will all be ordered on-line and the deadline is usually the first week of June. EduKit supplies are delivered directly to the school and are available to pick up a few days prior to the start of classes. Please note: Not every item on the supply list is included in the kits. Some of the items NOT included are: gym uniform, calculator, Discovery-specific items such as band/orchestra supplies, art supplies (grades 6 - 8), foreign language supplies (grades 6 - 8), etc.
Student Directory
Last Updated (Thursday, 27 August 2009 15:08)
Each fall the PTO publishes a Student Directory of all DCC families wishing to be included. While in years past there has been a $5 charge, new this year are FREE Directories too all who register. Membership is FREE and registration grants you a directory! What a terrific way to stay in contact with other parents and students from DCC.
To receive your FREE Student Directory, simply print out the Parent Involvement (PI) PTO Registration Form, located under the link for PTO Docs. Fill it out and send it in to any of the DCC offices before October 1st, 2009.
Book Fair
Last Updated (Wednesday, 26 August 2009 16:06)
Look for the DCC Book Fair to be held in April or May! Although this event is sponsored by the DCC Media Center (not the PTO), the PTO provides support for the Book Fair through volunteers. Approximately 20 volunteers are needed to staff the event. Volunteers help with the following tasks:
- directing the students to find the books they want
- creating wish lists for parents to preview
- keeping books organized and undamaged
- processing purchases on the cash register
If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please contact the PTO Book Fair co-chairpersons at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
