Fundraising events include the Magazine/Direct Donation Drive and ongoing Boxtop, Campbell's Soup Labels, and Tyson Label year-round collection.
The goal of the DCC PTO fundraisers is to fund all teacher grants at all levels of the Campus during the school year, starting with a monetary start-up grant for each teacher at the beginning of every new school year.
While the PTO receives about 40% of the funds raised from the Magazine Drive sales, 100% of Direct Donations to the DCC PTO goes directly to fund teacher-requested grants and is tax deductible! This year we are trying to have the rewards more activity-based and less small-prize based.
(Although DCC PTO may help support other DCC fundraisers, these fundraisers are not part of PTO. For instance, the Thunderstorm Run is a Counseling Department fundraiser; the Music Department sells Entertainment Books; the Elementary Playground Committee sponsors Pizza Hut pizza nights; and the Target Store REDcard program contributes to the DCC General Fund.)
Since our unique school is already large and still growing, we need to double our fundraising goal for the 2010-2011 school year.

Watch out! Here they come! "Duck Days" are almost upon us.
What are Duck Days, you ask? No, it's not a festival for our feathery fowl friends. Duck Days is our annual Teacher Grant fundraiser sponsored by the DCC PTO! This is how our terrific teachers can get funding for the items they NEED for your children's classes. And in these tough economic times where school budgets have been cut, our teachers REALLY NEED your involvement! DCC Duck Days

Our annual Teacher Grant "Duck Days" fundraiser runs Sept. 13th to Oct. 1st! This is the kick-off to our magazine & direct donation drive. All of the monies collected go directly to funding Teacher Grants. Last year, that amount totaled more than $20,000. We hope to exceed that by half again this year.
There will be no assemblies, no bulky packets, no cheap prizes, and no hassles with trying to decide which family member gets the credit to get more prizes! The whole family gets a treat! Duck Days is all about participation and school spirit!
Direct Donations

Does the idea of another fundraiser just wear you out? Instead, you may wish to contribute to DCC through Direct Donations. If every family contributed just $50, that amount would surpass all the profits from past fundraising efforts in one year. The great things about Direct Donations are:
- Pure Profit - 100% of your contribution goes towards the needs or in support of events at the school, (in contrast to only 40% earned from the Magazine drive)
- Available Year-Round - donations are welcomed at any time during the school year
- Can be Customized - you can even indicate that your contribution be applied towards a specific DCC event
If you would like to contribute funds to the DCC PTO, your donation can be brought in person to any DCC office, sent in with your student, or mailed in as a payment to DCC PTO. If you would like to contribute funds to a specific PTO event (for example, Welcome Staff Meal), then please write your intent in the memo of the check.

Kids who placed online magazine orders last year were VERY successful! It's as easy as PI! Just click on the picture below and start ordering!
Other tips: Tell your friends and family and have them go shop for magazines on www.qsp.com under Supporters, or just direct them to the above link. They will need to know our School name (Discovery Canyon Campus, ID# 425028067). Your student will receive credit for all these sales too! Some kids have been extremely successful asking their doctor/dentist office and local businesses for magazine renewals.
